Baptism is the beginning our journey of faith within the Church. At baptism parents promise to "raise their child in the practice of the faith." This, of course, presumes a relationship with the Church through worship, an individual prayer life as well as a willingness to conform their own life to the Gospel of Jesus Christ within the Church. Baptism classes are held the first Monday of even-numbered months, at 6:30 PM in the Saint Mary's Cathedral rectory. Pre-registration is required, by calling Deacon Leo Kosiba at 393-4841.
If your child has not been baptized or was baptized in another Christian denomination we must be notified, there is another course of study designed for them. Please contact Deacon Leo at 393-4841.
Reconciliation is celebrated on Thursday and Friday afternoons at 4:30 PM. Penance Services during Advent and Lent are announced on the schedule of special events.
First Reconciliation: Preparation for first reconciliation is done during the formative years of childhood, as part of the faith formation program.
Eucharist is celebrated regulary, according to the liturgy schedule and the schedule of special events.
First Communion: Preparation for first communion is done during the formative years of childhood, as part of the faith formation program.
Confirmation, one of the sacraments of initiation, is celebrated jointly with Saint Augustine's and Christ Church Newman Center through the faith formation program.
Anointing of the sick is available for those whose health is threatened due to aging, injury or serious chronic illness--either physical or psychological. If you would like a priest to visit you, please call the parish office at 251-1840.
To aid in the development of their relationship and to prepare for the sacrament, registered parishioners are asked to call the parish office to make an appointment with the rector at least six months prior to the proposed wedding date. See the marriage page for further detail.
